Back to Data Recovery F.A.Q.

Does DatBit offer laptop and notebook data recovery?

Yes. The development of high-capacity laptop hard disks has enabled us to establish advanced techniques in data recovery technology. As these drives are very small in comparison to desktop drives, the internal mechanics are miniature versions of their desktop counterparts, and so special tooling, equipment and handling procedures are required to facilitate the recovery of the data from these drives.

Typical problems that we have seen with laptop computers are due to mechanical or electronic failure, where either the drive does not spin at all, or if it does, then quiet but persistent 'ticking' or 'crunching' noises can be heard during powering up - this particular problem is mainly due to an internal head amplifier failure or, more seriously, a head crash or misalignment problem - the majority of which are recoverable.

Data recovery from laptop computers are priced the same as for desktop machines and despite the miniature mechanics, we have an exceptionally high recovery rate from these type of hard disks, and have performed data recovery from all manufacturers of notebooks and laptop hard disks, including IBM, Toshiba, HP, Sony, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Maxtor and others. If your notebook hard disk has crashed, please contact us for our specialized laptop data recovery service.

Fujitsu MPG3204AH 20 GB

From Customer's order

Drive is failed in OS. The drive stopped responding in windows and would not boot. I have attempted to read drive as a slave in another computer and was able to recover some data off of the second partition. Bios will recognize the drive in all computers but no programs can read information on it. Have tried to load knoppix in computer memory, was not able to see the drive partitions. The most important data is all of my outlook information located on the first partition.

After recovery:

I must say it's a really amazing what you do, I cannot thank you enough for what you did by recovering my data!
Best regards,
Mark A.H.

From Customer's order

I placed one working drive on top of another to get at a screw. The phone rang and I answered it about 10 minutes later I completed screwing the drives into their places. The screen was frozen. I rebooted and it never got into the OS as it said a file had been corrupted. I ran check disk and it told me that the c-drive was good. It would not complete a check disk on the d-drive as one or more files are corrupted. I had a local company come to my home as their advertisement said the do data recovery. A waste of money. The technician listened to what I said. Tried to boot it using my software and then he said the drive was not spinning. I told him that he had to be mistaken as I had successfully run chkdsk. He was not fazed. Although he pointed out a capacitor or a resistor on the drive and noted it had been damaged. It is on the left side of the drive about an inch and a half down from the bar code. He stated he could not do anything for me at that point and charged $75 for his service.

After recovery:

Thanks again for your help. I appreciate the items you were able to save. I will definitely recommend your services to others--have a Blessed Day.
