Shipping a Hard Drive, Computer, RAID Server

It is extremely important that your hard drive for data recovery service or any other device - such as whole laptop or computer system unit is packaged carefully to avoid any additional damage during shipment. Even though that we rather work with the bare hard drives, removed from the unit/system, yet you can always ship the whole unit/system to us if the service is urgent and you don't have time for hiring a technician to extract the failed device from it.

About RAID shipping: RAID as array of hard drives is arranged in certain order. Please mark or label each drive with its corresponding number in the RAID (Disk#1, Disk#2…). Sometimes our technicians may ask you to send the RAID controller along with the drives. In such instances, remove the controller carefully, enclose in anti-static material and ship along with the drives.

Shipping instructions

  1. To ship a BARE hard drive: Remove and retain all brackets, mounting screws and interface adapters unless otherwise instructed.
  2. To ship the WHOLE unit (external enclosure, laptop, etc.) include all needed accessories and software (like power adapters, cables, drivers, controllers, etc.)
  3. Preferable packaging: Place the drive inside an anti-static or wrap in aluminum foil. Suspend the unit in the center of a sturdy box of foam or bubble wrap around all sides.
  4. 4. We recommend to ship hard drives via air service to minimize handling such as UPS/FedEx Express or Expedited services, although you may ship via the courier of your choice.
  5. 5. Include a printed copy of your order in the package along with your failed hard drive and ship to selected location.
